Crestron is now shipping its DigitalMedia (DM) line that delivers a source-to-display digital solution. The newest DM output card is available in 20 versions, expanding the capabilities of the modular 8X8 and 16X16 DM matrix switchers.

The new DM-TX-300N and DM-TX-300N-F are 3X1 transmitters that accept and transmit any analog or uncompressed digital HD signals long distance over copper or fiber. Crestron’s DigitalMedia line is designed to provide a seamless transition from analog to digital systems without redesigning existing systems or replacing installed equipment.

The new output cards are part of a line that allows combinations of DM Fiber, DM CAT (twisted pair), HDMI, and stereo analog audio to be installed on a single DM matrix switcher chassis.

With a dedicated HDMI output accompanied by a balanced analog stereo audio output, any 2-channel audio signal is available to feed an analog audio mixer, processor, or amplifier.

The units connect multi-format analog video, HDMI, DVI-I, balanced or unbalanced line-level audio and SPDIF digital audio source signal to a DM switcher or receiver and have transmitters that send uncompressed signals hundreds of feet over a single copper cable or up to 1,000 feet via dual fiber strands.

The Cary Music Server from Cary Audio is engineered to complement the Xciter line of desktop audio products and traditional home theater products.

The Cary Music Server is a 1TB component that is FLAC friendly and capable of providing additional storage options through its USB inputs.

Homeowners can control the server, which can automatically connect to the Internet to facilitate its metadata features, with the iPhone or iPod touch.

Introduced as a cost affordable, modern loudspeaker that addresses the emerging IP audio market, Atlantic Technology's new ICTS-6.1-IP In-Ceiling Loudspeaker can be used for conventional audio systems, as well as IP-based systems.

The ICTS-6.1-IP includes a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer and a pivoting 1-inch silk-dome tweeter. These drivers are managed by one of the company's advanced crossover networks.

Atlantic Technology includes standard speaker terminals and connections for IP-based systems.

Crestron is shipping its latest Prodigy Series product, the PAMP-4X100 Processor Amplifier.

The PAMP-4X100 is a six-source, four-zone component that can be expanded to deliver music to as many as 12 rooms. Some of the features in the unit include a 50-watt per channel amplifier, a choice of compatible control options that include front panel volume and source selection, and compatibility with the company's PTL4 touchpanel and PLX2 handheld remote.

Additionally, authorized Crestron Electronics dealers can also set the unit up to be controlled with an Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

Denon's S-5BD BD/Receiver is a single component that bundles together a 5.1 receiver with a Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player.

The unit's receiver section includes two-source/two-zone capabilities, and Denon says it supports the HDMI 1.4 spec.

Some of the features included in the S-5BD are the inclusion of three HDMI inputs, RS-232 serial port, DC trigger outputs, Audyssey MultEQ Auto Setup and Calibration, and Dynamic Volume, a choice of surround formats such as Dolby True HD, DTS MA, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and assignable amplification options to create secondary audio zones.

Naim Audio's UnitiQute is a one-box solution that incorporates an amplifier rated to deliver 30-watts per channel into an 8-ohm load, an FM tuner, USB for computer connections, analog and digital inputs for traditional legacy sources, Ethernet, UPnP networking capabilities and 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analog converters (DACs) to upgrade the sound quality of low-resolution digital files.

The company says the unit is compatible with WAV, MP3, Windows media, AAC and FLAC files, and its on-board bass management system enables installers to run the unit with a subwoofer/satellite speaker system.

The unit, which debuted at CES 2010, is expected to launch in March 2010 at an MSRP of $2,000.

Russound's retrofit-friendly Collage system employs powerline technologies to transmit signals to the custom installation community. The scalable system is comprised of a powered keypad and its Media Manager, which connects to a home's network. The Collage system offers multizone audio and intercom functions and is compatible with PC and Apple-based networks.

The Dynaudio DM 2/6 is said to have a linear 6-ohm impedance, a frequency response of 50Hz to 23kHz, a power handling capacity of 150 watts, and it can be used in systems that require a small footprint speaker that won't take up much space.

The speaker includes a soft-dome tweeter, a 14CM mid-bass driver and a first-order crossover network.

Consumers have a choice of rosewood or black ash finishes. Dynaudio says the 2/6 can be used for in-cabinet installs, home theaters, whole-house audio and compact two-channel systems.
